California Poppy Time

 

As I've said in other posts, I really enjoy things that only happen once a year. It's nice to see a flower, and say, "It's been a year since I've seen one of those." 
It creates a cohesiveness for me, a relationship with time that is not dependent on shows I want to watch or places I need to be. I like connecting with the bigger picture.
California poppies are so lovely. Decided to have a little fun with a poppy portrait.

    I saw a bud today, if the dog didn't break it off we should have a flower tomorrow. They seem to like my climate and sandy soil.
